Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and keyboardist extraordinaire, Rick Wakeman, will be embarking on his first solo tour of North America in 13 years, and a date with Montreal is booked.
The tour, named “The Grumpy Old Rock Star Tour,” hits Montreal’s Olympia Theatre on September 28th.
As per the information provided, Wakeman will combine his exceptional playing with stories that will bring fans inside and show aspects of his 50-plus-year career that they might previously have been unaware.
Fans can expect to hear music from all stages of Wakeman’s career – from YES, his solo work, as well as early David Bowie hits which Wakeman played on. Adding to the fun, there will also be arrangements of Beatles tunes.
The 25-city tour will kick off in Annapolis, MD and continue through November. Tickets will be going on sale starting next week in select markets. For further information, please check Rick Wakeman’s web site, www.RWCC.com.
