According to Billboard, Canadian rockers Three Days Grace have moved into an exclusive place on the Mainstream Rock Songs airplay charts: Their current single, “The Mountain” has enabled them to tie Van Halen for the most chart topping singles.
This is the band’s 13th No.1 song on the chart. Van Halen recorded their 13th No. 1 back in 1998 with the single “Without You.” Soon it might be getting even more crowded for Three Days Grace and Van Halen at the top of the charts: Shinedown who currently sit at third place with 11 chart-toppers, have a new album on the horizon and their tune “Devil,” is quickly climbing the chart. This would be Shinedown’s 12th chart-topper.
Three Days Grace first topped the Mainstream Rock Songs airplay chart in 2004 with “Just Like You,” the second single from their self-titled debut album.
Billboard notes that after Three Days Grace, Van Halen and Shinedown, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers come next on the list at 10 chart-toppers, followed by Aerosmith and Metallica with nine and Foo Fighters, Linkin Park and Nickelback with eight apiece.
