The Dirt soon to arrive

One of the most anticipated music-themed movies, ‘The Dirt,’ the long-awaited Motley Crue biopic, will be released via Netflix on March 22, 2019.

The news of the release date comes from Crue lead vocalist, Vince Neil, who tweeted, “Wow!!! Just left Netflix offices. “Just saw ‘The Dirt’ movie!! Can’t wait for everyone to see it! Released March 22!! Yea!!!”

A couple of months ago, Neil confirmed that the band had regrouped to record four new songs for the movie soundtrack. Bassist Nikki Sixx also supported the new music, saying, “I’m listening to the roughs of the new Motley Crue and it feels real and raw. Everybody is playing like mad and the songs crush.”

As most people know, ‘The Dirt‘ is almost as old as… well, production work began in 2006, but it wasn’t until Netflix came forward in 2018 that the project began moving towards completion. Neil is played by Daniel Webber, Sixx by Douglas Cooper, guitarist Mick Mars by Iwan Rheon and drummer Tommy Lee by rapper Machine Gun Kelly.

Given how well rock-themed films are doing at the box office right now (Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ confirmed as the biggest-grossing music biopic of all time), and with an Elton John story ‘Rocketman’ also due in 2019, ‘The Dirt‘ could be arriving just in time.
