The Cult celebrates Sonic Temple

Is Montreal ready to re-live The Cult and celebrate a ‘Sonic Temple’?  The Cult, led by Ian Astbury and guitarist Billy Duffy, will embark on select dates in North America and the U.K. to celebrate the 30th-anniversary re-issue of their most commercially successful album. A date in Montreal is set for June 1 at MTelus.

The complete itinerary for ‘A Sonic Temple’ tour is shown here. Tickets are on sale now and the band expects to announce another block of dates very soon.

The setlist for the shows will draw from each of The Cult’s 10 studio albums, but the focus will be a ‘super set’ that will include the core songs from ‘Sonic Temple.’ The band intends to also include songs that have not been performed since the album was originally released in 1989.

The exact release date of the 30th-anniversary edition of ‘Sonic Temple’ is still to be finalized. The album featured the singles “Fire Woman,” “Edie (Ciao Baby),” “Sweet Soul Sister” and “Sun King”.
