Montreal’s Mountain City Rock announced major changes to it’s weekend schedule on Thursday. The changes come following months of testing of the station’s new studio platform, HD60 offering listeners an improved listening experience through the highest quality stream possible with a 60MB an hour stream.
Beginning Saturday Feb 29th, Radio newcomer Dre Haikalis hosts mornings on the station from 9 to noon. Haikalis, former host of
“The Music Podcast Deluxe” brings a passion for music to his duties at the station. Station owner Michael Dean, believes Dre’s unique style will resonate with Montrealers. “He just loves music…his tastes aren’t narrow in their focus, which I think is more important than ever as rock goes through a renaissance.”
Dean, himself a veteran broadcaster, returns with “The Weekend” from 1pm to 4pm Saturdays & Sundays. “It’s been a while I’ve wanted to get behind the mic again but had to find a way to make it work. When you fill as many positions as I do at the station…time is a precious commodity. I really hope the audience enjoys what we’re doing”
On top of the two new shows added to the schedule, Hard Rock Nights with Brian Basher, moves to 4pm on Saturdays with the Hard Rock Nights Rewind now slotted at 7pm on Mondays. Similarly, The Launch Pad Live – Reverb Nation Top 20 moves to 4pm on Sundays with The Launch Pad Live Rewind slotted at 7pm on Tuesdays.
