Vocalist Dee Snider recorded a few of his shows during the touring cycle for his last solo album, ‘For the Love Of Metal.’ He has now announced that a new live DVD and CD will arrive this summer, culled from the shows.
The tentative title for the new set is, ‘For The Love Of Metal Live.‘ In a new interview, Snider was asked what upcoming projects he had in store while he was waiting out the coronavirus pandemic. He said, “I was supposed to be directing my first feature film, but all film productions have gone on hiatus right now. I’m writing my first fictional novel — and I actually have a live concert video and album coming out this summer.” In Snider’s words, “This way people can pretend they’re at the concert in their living room and rock out to Dee Snider from my world tour last year.”
‘For The Love Of Metal’ was released in July 2018. It featured contributions from Howard Jones (ex-Killswitch Engage), Mark Morton (Lamb Of God), Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy), Joel Grind and Nick Bellmore (Toxic Holocaust), and Charlie Bellmore (Kingdom Of Sorrow).
In a separate interview, Snider said that he has found his place in the contemporary music world. He said. “This record defines me as a person who wants to feel vital what I’m doing now matters and counts. I’m healthy, people see me rock and their minds are blowing. I didn’t think at this point in my life, this would be happening.”
Twisted Sister retired in 2016 after completing a farewell 40th-anniversary tour. Snider, on the other hand, has remained busy on all fronts, and now with the imminent release of a live album, he is showing that his love for music and staying vital isn’t going anywhere.
