Slash preparing solo dates

Whether or not Guns N’ Roses follows its latest successful trek with new music doesn’t seem to matter to guitarist Slash. He’s looking beyond that and has booked some dates for his solo tour.

Slash’s first solo show will be at the Del Mar Racetrack and Fairgrounds north of San Diego over the weekend of Sept. 14-16. He will be appearing with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, part of a roster that also includes Robert Plant, Foo Fighters, Billy Idol, Stone Temple Pilots and many others.

A month later, Slash, along with Kennedy and the Conspirators, will play at the Monster Energy Aftershock festival, the weekend of Oct. 13-14 at Discovery Park in Sacramento, CA. The lineup has System of a Down, Deftones and Alice in Chains, along with a long list of others on its bill.

GnR’s mega-successful ‘Not In This Lifetime’ tour has been a hit in every city that it has played. Much of this has to do with heightened interest with the partially-reunited classic lineup that brought together Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan. The band is currently booked for a summer European tour that begins in June and carries on through to the end of July. Beyond that, no one knows what will happen.

In between all the shows, Slash is also in the studio working on his next solo release, expected to arrive in the fall of 2018.
