New Dead Daisies single released

Finding some light among the coronavirus darkness, The Dead Daisies have released a lyric video for their new song “Unspoken.”

The track will appear on the band’s fifth album ‘Holy Ground, – the album will be the quartet’s first to feature former Black Sabbath and Deep Purple member Glenn Hughes. Late last year, Hughes’ bass and vocals were heard on the track “Righteous Days.” Along with Hughes, the current lineup of Dead Daisies features former Whitesnake guitarist Doug Aldrich, guitarist David Lowy and ex-Journey drummer Deen Castronovo.

The new single is the second song previewed to the public with Hughes’ vocals and bass, after the release of “Righteous Days” last year.

Speaking about “Unspoken,” Hughes said, “I was driving into Hollywood when the chorus came to me. I pulled over, turned on my phone and recorded it.” Hughes spoke about the nostalgic feeling, saying, “I transported myself back to 1972. The intro is the theme of the song. It’s bombastic, primeval and haunting. This song is about letting go, getting past the fear and to breathe again.”

Hughes joined the Daisies last year after the departures of John Corabi and Marco Mendoza. You can watch the “Unspoken” video below.

Holy Ground’ will be the follow-up to 2018’s ‘Burn It Down,’ and will be released later this year.
