In a surprise announcement that was posted on various social media accounts, Motley Crue‘s Tommy Lee and Nikki Sixx informed their respective followers that they spent the last day in a recording studio with noted producer Bob Rock, who worked with the band on their‘Dr. Feelgood’ album.
Lee and Sixx jointly shared the information via photos, with Lee’s photo on Instagram captioned, “It’s that new s***!!!.” Along with the photo, Lee also posted a video of him playing drums on Crue’s Facebook account. The caption read, “28th August 2018.”
Neither guitarist Mick Mars or vocalist Vince Neil were in the pictures. There was no further comment from either band member or any explanation offered as to why Lee, Sixx and Rock were in the studio, so the rumour mill was rampant with theories. Among the more generally-accepted thoughts was that the trio was working on music that was being recorded for the band’s upcoming Netflix biopic, ‘The Dirt.’
A release date has yet to be announced for ‘The Dirt,’ so fans might have to wait a bit longer before any information. In the meantime, trust that Lee and Sixx will continue to offer teasers as to what might be in store.
