Jovi guitarist, Phil X, prepares new solo album

Phil X, guitarist and songwriter for Bon Jovi, has released the lead single “Something To Say” from the forthcoming studio album by his band, The Drills. A promo video for upcoming shows is shown below.

The new album, titled ‘Stupid Good Lookings…Vol 1,’ features Drills, bassist Daniel Spree, as well as some special guests. It offers six new songs and is due on May 3.

Phil & the Drills first album was, ’Kick Your Ass In 17 Minutes,’ in September 2009. It featured Phil, Spree and Brian Burwell on drums. This was followed up by 2011’s ‘We Bring The Rock n’ Roll’ and 2012’s ‘We Play Instruments N’ Shit.’ These albums have helped make Phil X a much sought after studio musician, working with the likes of Tommy Lee, Alice Cooper, Orianthi, Rob Zombie and Triumph, among others.

‘Stupid Good Lookings…Vol 1,’ is produced by Phil X. The musicians include Matt Chamberlain and Abe Laboriel Jr or drums, Everett Bradley on percussion,

The Drills will embark on a five-date mini-tour:
May 09 – West Hollywood, CA – Whisky A Go Go
May 10 – San Diego, CA – Brick By Brick
May 17 – Scottsdale, AZ – BLK Live
May 19 – Las Vegas, NV – Vamp’d
May 19 – Anaheim, CA – The Parrish Room at the House of Blues
