There’s a buzz among fans in the world of Iron Maiden: the band’s potential 17th album might be on the way. The stories are circulating thanks to a social media post by their long-time, producer Kevin Shirley.
Iron Maiden’s last studio LP was four years ago, 2015’s ‘The Book of Souls.’ Since that time, they’ve kept busy with some heavy touring under the ‘Legacy of the Beast show, which is based on the themes of their video game of the same name.
On his Facebook post, Shirley was reviewing his events of 2019 and mentioned that he’d spent three months in Paris “working very hard on an annoyed but not-very-secret project,” and that he’d “finished with a loud ringing in my ears.” The post also included a picture of Guillaume Tell Studios, the Paris location where Maiden and Shirley worked on 2000 LP ‘Brave New World ‘and ‘The Book of Souls.’
In an interview earlier this year, Maiden lead vocalist Bruce Dickinson said that “New Iron Maiden songs are coming sooner than you think.” Later in the year at a show in Nashville, he said that the new LP was a “certainty.”
Shirley has produced every Iron Maiden release since ‘Brave New World.’
