Hellyeah’s next album, their sixth and their final group effort with drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott, is set for release on June 28. Abbott passed away in June 2018.
A new song titled “333” will premiere today (Thursday, March 14) starting at 8 a.m. on selected satellite radio stations. The music video for the song has been completed and will also air soon.
While there has been no confirmation as to the meaning of the title “333,” some are seeing it as a reference to it being a number that was loved by Vinnie Paul’s brother, late Pantera guitarist “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott. The drummer has claimed that often he would look up at the clock at precisely 3:33, day or night. He also said that the first demo of the title track of Hellyeah‘s debut album, ‘Hellyeah,’ was exactly three minutes and 33 seconds long. Vinnie Paul‘s funeral last June 30 began at exactly 3:33 p.m. as a nod to Dimebag‘s favorite number.
The new album was produced by Kevin Churko, who also worked on the last two albums, 2016’s ‘Unden!able’ and 2014’s ‘Blood For Blood.’
Hellyeah will celebrate Vinnie Paul‘s life with a special performance on May 11 at the House Of Blues in Las Vegas, Nevada.
