Looks like fans of Foo Fighters received the news that they’d been waiting to hear: Dave Grohl said the band has completed work on their 10th studio album.
Grohl hasn’t released a lot of news about the follow-up to 2017’s ‘Concrete and Gold ‘ except for saying that he was “…proud” of the music which earlier he had called “…weird.” Grohl told Kerrang!, “We just finished another record. It’s unlike anything we’ve ever done. I’m excited for people to hear it and I can’t wait to jump on that stage to play it.”
It may be hard to believe, but 2020 marks the 25th anniversary of Foo Fighters. Grohl reflected on this, “Some people measure time in days and months and years, but with me, I measure time in musical terms.” He continued, “When I think about 1995 to ’96, that was one thing. When I think of ’90 to ’99, that’s another, and so on. I see my life in these markers that are represented by our music. I feel like I’ve been writing this big story, and specific lyrics and songs relate to specific things that happened to me at those times.”
Foo Fighters previously announced a North American road trip begins April 12 and runs to May 20th. The tour is named ‘The Van Tour,‘ it celebrates the band’s early days when they traveled from gig to gig in a battered old vehicle.
