As their long and storied career continues to go down new paths, the latest news is that Aerosmith might be next to go the Broadway musical route.
Guitarist Joe Perry has said that he hoped the band would be able to take advantage of an invitation that has been presented to them. Perry told Forbes, “We have been approached at the level of, ‘Would you want to do it?’ We haven’t even gotten to the level of how it would come out, the creative part. … We have been so involved with the Vegas show. We’ll see where it goes.”
Aerosmith have been focusing on their “Deuces Are Wild” Las Vegas residency, which will be moving on to other locations in the coming months. Perry is also busy with his band the Hollywood Vampires, which includes Johnny Depp and Alice Cooper.
Perry added that Broadway is “certainly something we’d like to entertain when we get a little time.” At this stage, it doesn’t appear that either Aerosmith or its individual members are preparing to slow down or retire.
