It’s been a year of highlights for fans of Steve Perry. Nearly 25 years after his last solo album, Perry released the comeback album ‘Traces‘ in October. Now as a thank you, he’s released a cover of the seasonal song “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” to mark the end of the year in which he finally returned to music. The song can be heard in the video link below.
Perry posted the following message to fans: “This has been a big year of firsts for me. In keeping with that spirit, I thought I’d record a little Christmas card song and send it out to you to thank you for all of your kindness in welcoming me back. Have yourself a merry little Christmas. I hope you enjoy it.”
“Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” was written by Hugh Martin and Ralph Blane, and first introduced by Judy Garland in the 1944 MGM musical “Meet Me In St. Louis.”
