Paul Rodgers has announced that the live concert he presented in London in May 2017, “Free Spirit – Celebrating the Music of Free” will see release on CD as well as DVD/Blu-Ray. Now, those of us who could not be at the Royal Albert Hall to see Rodgers – considered by many to be one of the greatest vocalists in rock history – can relive the magic when it hits retail outlets and online platforms later this spring.
“I have been making music for a long, long, long time, so to get super charged and re-inspired to perform was a revelation”, says Rodgers. “I loved the ‘Free Spirit’ tour and the guys who helped create the magic, Pete Bullick, Rich Newman, Ian Rowley and Gerard ‘G’ Louis. I hope you feel it too, just lose yourself in the music and let it fuel your soul.”
Rodgers’ career began with Free, which released six albums between 1968 and 1973. The “Free Spirit” tour saw Rodgers perform songs from all six of those albums, including songs that were never performed live in their heyday. The tour continues stateside in 2018, just in time for the release of the album / concert recording.
