They are among the most prolific recording acts having released three albums in the last two calendar years. Apparently, rest is not something on their schedule. Cheap Trick lead vocalist Robin Zander has confirmed that the band is working on a new album for a tentative late 2018 release.
Cheap Trick have released nearly 20 studio albums over their 40-year recording career. In a new interview with Ultimate Classic Rock, Zander said, “We’re working on another record right now as we speak. In fact, we just covered John Lennon’s ‘Gimme Some Truth.’ I’m thinking we should put it out now, because it’s a great version.”
Zander confirmed that the album will be released this year: “We’ve already got a couple of songs that are mixed, so the record will be released this year. And if we don’t have it ready, I’d like to put out the cover tune somewhere.”
Cheap Trick will soon be on tour, and depending on the date, co-headliners will be Poison, Joan Jett, Ann Wilson, Journey and Def Leppard. Information can be found here.
